30 Month Run of Global Trade Growth Slows To a Crawl

Global trade activity growth may have slowed in September, Panjiva analysis of IATA and seaport data from 10 regions shows. Growth of 1.7% on a year earlier was marked a slowdown from 2.4% in the prior three months though still represents a 30th straight month of expansion. There is some evidence of the China-U.S. trade war having an effect with air traffic growth for Asian and North American airlines dropping to just 1.2% and 1.5% respectively.
