ZIM Shipping Could Jack Up Jaxport, ONE Remains Number One

ZIM Shipping has completed its first call at Jaxport (Jacksonville, FL) following a rearrangement of container-line services with the 2M Alliance. Jaxport may be hoping the new service will boost its inbound volumes given there was an 11.6% drop vs. a year earlier in the third quarter vs. 8.5% growth in the prior three quarters. Ocean Network Express was the largest liner using Jaxport in the past 12 months with 121k TEUs shipped, ahead of ZIM’s 2M partners (MSC and Maersk) at 60.7k TEUs.
