MSC has restructured its container-line services from Europe to south America to exclude a stop at Philadelphia. The service had been a significant part of Philadelphia’s volume growth since 2016 though the MSC’s volumes shipped into Philadelphia in the 12 months to July 31 were 40k TEUs or 7% of the port’s total inbound volumes. MSC will remain the largest container-line using the port with 45% of volumes in the past 12 months ahead of 2M partner Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd.
