The U.S. ITC has ruled that Chinese exports of steel wheels have harmed American industry and will implement an antidumping review. The case is notable in that the products are covered by neither the section 232 review of the steel industry nor the duties proposed as part of the section 301 review of Chinese IP policies. It may be made moot though should automakers choose to prioritize NAFTA-located products in the future to meet rules-of-origin requirements.
